WE SELL FURNITURE

Everyone buys furniture for their home. Budget-conscious buyers can purchase:

  1. Discount new furniture – which is imported from Asia and poorly constructed with cheap materials,
  2. Consigned & thrift furniture – primarily available in small retail outlets with a meager selection of mixed-quality merchandise, or
  3. Décor Once More – a large, diverse, high-quality selection of previously owned
  • High-end, high-character modern, vintage or designer & non-branded pieces
  • In pristine, stain & odor-free, like-new condition, and
  • At a great value – priced at 55-95% less than retail

As a result of the frequent acquisition of whole estates from exclusive addresses in Palm Beach county, Décor Once More has up to 5,000 select & unique items for sale. These are on display in a 15,000 ft2 showroom in the Fairfax Plaza in West Palm Beach.

Whether your home bar needs rattan & cane stools, a boudoir requires a French Provencal dresser, or your living room is incomplete without a natural cherry armoire & credenza, Decor Once More has everything a happy home desires – with new stock added almost every day.

Additionally, Décor Once More offers a well-curated collection of eye-catching florals & silks, and custom collectibles & artwork, all to help South Florida residents take the interior design of their dreams and turn it into a reality.

WE BUY FURNITURE

Are you moving? Facing foreclosure? Downsizing or cleaning house? Settling an estate? Or is a family member moving to Assisted Living?

Those wishing to liquidate an estate have these options:

Décor Once More

As a full-service used furnishings & décor dealer, Décor Once More offers the most economically beneficial way to clean out a room or section of a house – or even to liquidate an entire estate – quickly, simply, and with the least disruption. After reviewing the items you wish to sell, Décor Once More’s professional team of buyers offer a partnership with the following benefits:

  • Extend an offer to directly purchase all items that have resale value greater than Thrift Value
  • In as little as 24 hours after contact
  • With full payment on the same day the items are removed (not waiting weeks or months for consigned merchandise to sell)
  • Based on the special knowledge of professionals who understand the real market value of your furnishings.

Consignment

A second option is to consign your items to a Consignment store, which will sell your furniture in their retail space and charge you up to 50% commission (or more). As many items take a long time to sell (if they ever do), most consignment stores will want to assume ownership of your items at no charge unless you retrieve the items from their store at the end of the consignment period (typically ranging from 30 to 90 days).

Online Sale

Selling through portals like eBay is very time consuming, difficult and ineffective for large items that require packing & shipping. Selling through online garage sales like LetGo or OfferUp works better for small, household items being offered at garage sale prices. And selling through Craigslist only caters to local markets and, like online garage sales, sellers never know who will show up at their front door.

Auctions & Liquidators

A third option is to liquidate your estate through an auction house or estate liquidator, which charges up to 20% commission to both the seller and the buyers, takes several weeks to complete the sale, and which are largely unregulated.

Discard

You can simply throw your items away.

Donation

You can donate your items to friends or family members if you like. However, if you wish to claim a tax deduction for donating your furnishings to a charitable organization, the federal government has made it very difficult.

  1. To deduct items worth $250 to $5,000, the items must be “in good condition or better,” you must fill out Form 8283 (Noncash Charitable Contributions) and include it with your return, and you need a contemporaneous written acknowledgement from the charity (more detailed than a receipt) that meets IRS guidelines and which includes (a) a description (but not the value) of each item, (b) whether the charity provided you with any goods or services in exchange for the donation, and (c) a description and good-faith estimate of the value of any goods or services provided by the charity in exchange for your donation – all obtained on or before the date you file your Form 1040 for the year you made the donation. Otherwise, you lose your deduction.
  2. To deduct home furnishings worth over $5,000, you generally need what is listed above PLUS a written appraisal by a qualified appraiser. Specific appraisal requirements apply to certain types of donated property and to donations valued above certain amounts.
  3. In either case, you can only write off the “fair market value” of the furnishings, you have to reduce the fair market value by any amount that would constitute ordinary income if you had sold it instead of donating it, and your maximum deduction is capped at 50% of your adjusted gross income (and as little as 20% to certain groups or non-profits). Finally, if you are able to itemize and are in a 25% tax bracket, a $500 deduction only lowers your tax liability by $125.

Please note: Donation rules change regularly. Please consult with your accountant or  for the most up-to-date donation guidelines and information.

Testimonials

Walking into Decor Once More was like walking into an elegant furniture store. My wife and I had visited Decor Once More and we have found their furniture and accessories to be a “cut far above” that of the traditional thrift or consignment type stores.
